Post Election Blues

Good morning beautiful people!

I hope y’all are having a better week than last. I took some time within the last week to many things; grieve, reflect, recoup and sit down with like-minded souls to evaluate what it was we needed to do in order to keep us and others sane for the next four years of the Trump presidency; and we came to the conclusion that we will grieve, reflect and recoup through our art. But, along with helping ourselves, we want to use our creativity to heal the community.  Continue reading “Post Election Blues”

Concrete Garden

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone has been enjoying this beautiful weather we’ve been having; it’s finally starting to feel like spring. Of course, I had to take advantage of this guud warm weather and get another post in the works for you guys – I’m giving this thing called consistency a try, I’ll let you know how that works out lol.

With that being said, I gave none other than the great Carolyn (@graphicfemale) a call and set up a date to roam the city. There’s nothing like wandering Philadelphia when everything’s in bloom. The energy of the whole city shifts – there truly is a power in witnessing the rebirth of flowers. Carolyn and I made sure we were stopping every couple of blocks to take pictures of all of the blossoming little buds 🙂 Continue reading “Concrete Garden”

The Denim Hustle

It’s safe to say, we’re all impatiently waiting for spring to arrive. Mother nature has been plucking at our heartstrings while we sit and hope for one solid week of 60-degree weather. It feels like I’ve been weeding through piles of sweaters in my closet for ages! Thankfully, I feel that I have shaped my closet to mirror my perfect spring wardrobe. The easiest way for me to reinvent my closet is to switch up my aesthetic. This is great way for me to get out of my comfort zone and keep things fresh. For spring I’ve been going for “Sassy Gardener” haha! As silly as it seems, it fits me very well. Some of the trends on my mind for this look are denim and the utilization of your everyday accessories. Denim transforms and fits the body like no other fabric and accessories highlight the simplicity of denim making one fabulous outfit! Continue reading “The Denim Hustle”

Make Believe Getaway

School is finally winding down and a girl can start to let loose! This photo shoot was particularly fun because I got to work with one of my good friends, the beautiful and talented Tatiana Valencia (@tatianavalencia) and this was my first collaborating project! Tatiana was the genius behind styling & capturing this Colombian inspired look, which was totally by accident! Not to mention we were just jammin’ to Señorita by Justin Timberlake right before we headed out to shoot so that could’ve had something to do with it lol. The way some of these shots came out had me thinking I was really in Colombia haha. Unfortunately, we were just in the side yard of my apartment building in Boston, which can’t get any better than that…. all sarcasm intended 😛 Continue reading “Make Believe Getaway”

Glooms Day

My apologies for being so absent this week; I was on spring break and needed to relax. Today was a typical day in April; partly cloudy with a chance of showers and I was really out here tryna stunt in this shoot even though I was freezing! The wind was blowing my hair every direction so it was hard not to admit defeat and go back inside for warmth. I was just so inspired by the colors of a bush I saw on my neighbor’s lawn; a pretty olive green and mustard yellow, an unlikely pair, but it worked for me! That may sound a little weird but it’s never a bad thing to draw inspiration from the little things that catch your eyes in nature. There is too much beauty to behold on this earth to let it go to waste, including this gloomy day! Continue reading “Glooms Day”
